Theme Background:

Every two years, Commonwealth leaders meet at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to discuss global and Commonwealth issues, and to agree on collective policies and initiatives. The next Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting will be held in Perth, Western Australia, from 28 to 30 October 2011. CHOGM 2011 will provide an opportunity for Commonwealth leaders to meet in Australia to discuss world issues relevant to building a strong and secure future for all.

Coin Features:
The coin design features the official logo for CHOGM 2011. Each flag surrounding the globe are stylised shapes of Western Australia and they symbolise all the different countries that will be gathering at the meeting under the Southern Cross.
