On 12th November 2010 the Australian Tax Office will celebrate its centenary.

One hundred years ago on 11th November 1910, the Federal Land Tax Branch of the Department of Treasury came into existence and was the forerunner to the Tax Office.

Today, the Tax Office is the Government’s principal revenue collection agency. It provides a fundamental service to the nation, as it funds a variety of community assets and services for the benefit of all Australians.

To celebrate this milestone, the Royal Australian Mint has rolled the commemorative 20c Centenary of the Australian Tax Office circulating coin.
