Theme Background:

Working Dogs Series:

Focusing on five intelligent working dog breeds, this exciting Working Dogs series portrays these unpaid, unsung heroes of the Australian labour force – our four-legged, big-hearted workers. Coin Club Australia is aiming to raise a sum of $15,000 as charity funds for RSPCA Australia through the Working Dogs coin program.

German Shepherd - Police Dog:

The 5th and final release of the Working Dog series is the German Shepherd. Also known as the Alsatian, it is a large-sized dog that originated in Germany. The German Shepherd is considered a relatively new breed with its inception dating back to 1899. This intelligent canine is a working dog, originally developed for herding sheep. Because of its loyalty, strength and obedient nature, it is often employed by  the police and military.
