Coin Club Australia is aiming to raise a sum of $15,000 as charity funds for RSPCA Australia through the Working Dogs coin program.

Border Collie - Sheep Dog:

The 2^nd release in the Working Dogs series is Border Collie – Sheep Dog. An intelligent, devoted and energetic breed, the Border Collie’s great temperament is matched by its agility, concentration and instinctive desire to work closely with humans. Ideally suited to an active role, it is best-known as a ‘droving’ dog working livestock. The Border Collie’s acute herding instincts make it one of the world’s most popular sheep dogs.

Design 

The coin’s reverse portrays a Border Collie and a puppy in colour. The design includes silhouettes of sheep in the background. As well as decorative pattern of paw prints, the coin’s reverse also includes the inscription ‘WORKING DOGS’ and ‘BORDER COLLIE – SHEEP DOG’. The coin’s obverse depicts the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2011 year-date.
