Celebrating the Year of the Rabbit, this 2011 Typeset Collection from the annual Australian Lunar Silver Coins Series II is a prestigious and exceptionally limited offering from The Perth Mint.

In Chinese culture, people born in the Year of the Rabbit - 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999 and 2011 - are regarded as intelligent, articulate, compassionate and loyal.

Each coin's reverse depicts an adult rabbit and a young rabbit set against a background of foliage and a tree with creepers entwined in its branches. 

• The delicately frosted design on the proof coin appears on a mirror-like polished table;
• The specimen quality gilded coin highlights the rabbits in 24-carat gold;
• The specimen quality coloured coin depicts the rabbits in colour;
• The shiny design on the bullion coin appears on a frosted table.

As well as the inscription ‘Year of the Rabbit’ and the Chinese character for ‘rabbit’, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also appears on the reverse of all four coins.
