Theme Background:
Working Dogs Series:
Focusing on five intelligent working dog breeds, this exciting Working Dogs series portrays these unpaid, unsung heroes of the Australian labour force – our four-legged, big-hearted workers. Coin Club Australia is aiming to raise a sum of $15,000 as charity funds for RSPCA Australia through the Working Dogs coin program.
Australian Cattle Dog - Herding Dog:
The 3rd release in the Working Dogs series is Australian Cattle Dog – Herding Dog. The Australian Cattle Dog is a breed of herding dog developed for droving cattle over long distances. A courageous and tireless worker, the Australian Cattle Dog is an intelligent and athletic companion and a loving family pet. The dogs have either red-brown or blue-black hair and motivate reluctant sheep by nipping at their heels – hence the dogs’ affectionate nickname, ‘Red Heeler’ or ‘Blue Heeler’.
